Chassis Tuning Services by MCT for Drag Racing
The first thing is to collect the data. Things such as engine power and torque, gear ratios (Torque Delivery), tire size/compound, existing 4-link setting, shocks/struts settings and many other basic measurements of the car and its components.
The next thing is to establish a true flat and level surface from which to set ride heights, plot the four link measurements into computer. I will then document all the ride heights and corner weights as well as preload amounts in pounds, and if the anti-roll device is loading either tire. I will measure springs to determine whether they are true and effective. Then pre load and anti-roll are neutralized and new corner weights are noted again. At this time, some decisions are made as to where the best location for the instant center of the four link is.
From here the proper ride heights are set, pinion angle is set, 4-link is set up, and pre load is put in and noted in pounds.
Lastly the anti-roll device is reconnected, being sure not to load it any amount. You will get the existing set up notes including scaling numbers, 4-link plot data, ride heights as well as all of the new or final set up notes.
